CONSERVATION & RESEARCH Riverside Zoo participates in many programs and partnerships to support and encourage wildlife and natural resource conservation. Our activities are made possible in large part by support from our guests and our members. In cooperation with the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) Riverside Zoo participates in the Species Survival Program (SSP) for several species of imperiled wildlife, including Red Panda, Chimpanzee, Spider Monkey, Cinereous Vulture, Wattled Crane, Swift Fox and Colobus Monkey. The zoo also cooperates with the International Recovery and Management Committee for Golden Headed Lion Tamarin. Thanks to cooperative and scientific management the future of many species is brighter today than just a few years ago.
Conservation begins at home and that's why Riverside Zoo
offers important programs on Earth Manners for every grade. These
programs focus on issues such as recycling, water conservation, energy,
composting, pollution, etc. Call today to reserve a program that will
help us help mother earth!
